Between conflicting advice, endless forums, and the unpredictability of labor, preparing for childbirth often feels more overwhelming than empowering. You are not alone in feeling unprepared when there is simply too much to filter through.
Our childbirth education course was created by full-time doulas with decades worth of experience attending births in every setting—from home births and birth centers to hospital births, inductions, and cesareans. We bring together real-world experience and evidence-based information to help families navigate birth with confidence, not by promoting one "right" way to give birth, but by providing the knowledge and tools needed to make informed decisions that align with your unique priorities, values, and circumstances.

.Understand each phase of labor and what to expect, including common medical interventions.

Gain the confidence to respond in an emergency with hands-on training in infant and adult CPR, choking response, and common first aid situations. This practical class helps parents and caregivers feel prepared to act quickly and effectively when it matters most. ($100/pair when added to the Complete Childbirth Course!)
We know you have a lot on your mind as you prepare for this journey. Here is what other parents ask most often. If you don't see your question, we are always here to help.
No! Each class is designed to stand on its own, so you can take them in any order that works for your schedule.
That said, we love when families start with Labor Stages & Common Interventions because it provides a strong foundation for many of the topics covered throughout the rest of the series.
We generally recommend starting around 28 weeks of pregnancy, give or take a few weeks depending on your schedule, preferences, and whether this is your first baby.
Starting around this time gives you plenty of opportunity to absorb the information without feeling rushed.
Great! Hypnosis and relaxation techniques can be a wonderful addition to your birth preparation.
We offer several hypno-birthing resources and love helping families incorporate these tools into their birth experience.
We have options!
Most classes are available as a virtual course. After you've watched the entire class, you'll meet with the class instructor for a one-on-one to review the material, ask questions, and personalize the information for your situation.
Comfort Measures & Labor Positions is a highly hands-on class and does not currently have a virtual makeup option, but instead a 1:1 scheduled at a time that works well for you.
We strongly encourage partners and support people to attend whenever possible. Many of the classes include practical tools, communication strategies, comfort techniques, and hands-on skills that are especially valuable for support people.
That said, our classes are also designed to work well for:
- Individuals attending on their own
- Single parents
- Families whose partners travel or work unusual schedules
No matter your situation, you'll find plenty of support within the Doula Hive community.
Yes! Each class includes a companion guidebook that helps you revisit key information and practical tools later—especially during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and those late-night “wait, what did they say about that?” moments.
Guidebooks are available through our online resources.
Everything is housed inside our online community.
There you'll be able to:
- Access class resources and guidebooks
- View upcoming class schedules
- Connect with other families
Stay informed about events
- Connect with the many providers and professionals within Doula Hive.
We're excited for families to use this space as a hub for support throughout pregnancy and beyond.
No problem! We'll apply the cost of the class you've already taken toward the full course package.
Example: If you paid $150 for an individual class and later decide to enroll in the full course package, you would simply pay the remaining balance.
No. Infant and Adult CPR is offered as a separate add-on course.
We highly recommend CPR training for all parents, grandparents, and caregivers, but it is not included in the childbirth education packages.
Absolutely! We believe families should know exactly what they're signing up for.

That's one of the benefits of learning with Doula Hive.
Whether you're enrolled in a single class or the full series, you'll have access to resources, community support, and opportunities to connect with instructors as questions come up throughout your pregnancy.
No one is expected to memorize everything the first time around—we're here to support your learning along the way. 💛
